For those who know, MountCamdeboo started with a small predator project not to long ago. One of the species in this project is the African Wild Cat that almost just looks like your normal house cat.
We have the two adult males of about 17 months old in a separate boma (holding facility) for the reason that the female wild cat was still a kitten of 6 weeks when we got her and was afraid that the males will get aggressive and injure her. Today the female kitten is 7 months old and we decided it was time to open up the two boma's to make it into one unit so that the two males and female can get face to face or should I say claw to claw with each other and get over it so that they can be together.
Guess what……….the female is wearing the pants or fur because she took over the males boma and even taking food out of their mouths without any fighting. The introduction of the female (Eleanor) to the two males (Elvin & Theodore) was successful.
- The first photo is where Theodore & Eleanor sitting side by side. You can see she is still very young.
- Second photo is where Theodore have a grin on his face......he has found love.
